Changes!

K so this blog is starting to get kind of pointless as we are getting more and more games, i can't keep updating every time we play anymore. I'll tell you what happened yesterday though.

We played Knockout's "alt team" which consists of Majin, the KO warrior, Vilu the KO pala, Seita the mage of the KO hunter which he played in s1, Diivl the KO warlocks priest and a ele shaman from their guild. As of right now they are the only good 2345 in our BG and we played them loads yesterday and the day before.

Two days ago we started out with the hunter line up and losing 2 games, then we switched in Glas and won pretty easily with a score of like 6 or 5 to 1. Yesterday though Fontaine felt he really wanted to try to learn how to beat them with the hunter setup, because switching in Glas to win would be pretty pointless since we already knew how to win with that setup. Keeping our rating doesn't really matter anymore, we have the gear we wan't (almost) and we have proven ourselves as a decent team.

Winning felt impossible lol. We won like one game and lost a million. It was very frustrating and i ended up crying about selling my char and quitting the game etcetera. :D
They have the best setup available for effective target switching, but it was enough for them to just stick on me and kill me. Seita landed 1 school locking CS on Fontaine in all the games we played, but it didn't matter. They don't need interrupts to kill me. As soon as Majin gets me to 50% (no hard feat) i'm dead. Bloodlust + sham/mage burst and there's nothing i can do.

But whatever, their setup is hard for our setup and we could have switched in Glas to make our setup better against theirs but we didn't.

Í don't know if I'm gonna change my style of writing in this blog or just stop writing. We'll see.

HAHAWARLOCKS

WTF LOL at warlocks (news yeah). Me, Mindseeker and Glasmastarn made a 3v3 team with me playing shadow and Mindseeker playing affliction, and we went 52 - 2 (first loss was because Glas dc'd) with 2210 rating. Even if they manage to kill me i can be pretty confident that the others will win 2v3 since we have probably made them spend a lot of mana and cooldowns by then. One game me and Glas got separated early in the game and i got nuked while out of LoS from Glas (my fault). It was kind of a long game after that but the other team didn't even get close to winning. We didn't meet any SR teams though which was probably why we didn't lose.

The one legit loss we had was to another SP/lock team who resisted both my fear and silence while Glas was a bit late on healing (record vs this team ended up something like 5 - 1 in our favour).

Shadow is awesome, i am skilled and you are all noobs cause you don't flay the way i flay.

Murph ftw

Riiiiiight so tonight went a little better in 5v5, we played something like 16-17 games and only lost one, putting us back at rank 2 with 2344 rating. We didn't get to face the teams that took our rating on Sunday which was a bit disappointing, but we'll get back at them sooner or later.

Dassan was ill so our old warrior and good friend Murph helped us out for the night. He's a great player and probably my best "online friend" (if there is such a thing :D) so it was a lot of fun. Thanks!

Now i guess we need to beat Knockout a few times to take back rank one since they have a huge lead in rating (2470 or something) but that won't be for a few days. Tomorrow I'm speccing shadow to practise 3v3 with Glasmastarn and Mindseeker as we are thinking about going to WSVG in london together with Murph and Fontaine. I also wan't to play some 2v2 with Ambergo cause we've been getting our asses kicked by a million warrior teams lately and i don't like it. Stupid bracket.

I'll say it again, if you're looking for point boosting in 3v3 whisper me in game or leave a comment here or something. Also if you're interested in buying a 2v2 team with a 2113 rating, contact me. I need gold. Now. Please. Ty.

FU

Shit day today. We had the biggest tilt since we lost 300 rating in 2 days in season one. We lost to some teams we shouldn't have lost to, generally played pretty badly, lagged around, Fontaine was sick irl and so on and so forth. from ~2370 rating to 2245, lowest we've had in season two. Everyone has bad days though i guess and we'll get back on our feet sooner or later.

In other news, Team Glasmastarn (Murph, Fontaine and Glasmastarn) are rank 1 in 3v3, grats and gw to them! They have yet to keep a winning record vs my main team though so i'm cooler (we haven't played them in ages and we suck now :D).

Me, Esko and Mindseeker made another 3v3 team to keep Esko in shape between 5v5 nights. Or, well we took a team we made to give my alt rogue some arena points, but who cares. We went from 1550 with 0 - 1 to 2217 with 49 - 5 stats. If you are interested in paying us to get points from our 3v3 team contact me in game! The price is something like 400g per week with ~2100 rating.

Thats it for now i guess, taa.

Back in business

It's been a while now since my last post. To my surprise there has been a lot of people asking for updates which was fun, didn't know anyone actually read this blog lol. Thanks!

We have finally decided upon and recruited a new warlock, a guy called Painless from Sylvanas-EU (name was taken so he's Mindseeker now on Vashj). He's a great guy and shows a lot of promise. He does boatloads of damage and has very good communication skills for someone who just arrived in a new team with people he doesn't know. However, he doesn't have that much experience from competitive 5v5 so some mistakes are bound to be made while he is learning positioning and such, although he's picking it up fast. Welcome aboard!

We started the week at 2361 (we dropped last week when playing 2xwarrior for points, ty for the help Murph!) and ended up at the exact same rating at the end of the week. Sunday night we queued up to face nothing but crap teams, gaining 8 rating in 6 wins. We played a couple on monday aswell though i can't remember how it went for some reason, or even what teams we played... hmm. Anyway, tuesday night, as soon as we queued up we got to face one of the best teams in the BG, Fikagruppen. They have been inactive for a long while just as we have, (actually even longer i think, though it only takes a short while to get out of shape in the arena*)
and we managed to win the first game.

Second game we played really really badly and got paaawned. Third and fourth game they won aswell, though these were closer. In both these games they dropped someone so fast it was scary, i fucked up and didn't react in time and the person focused (mindseeker once, esko who hasn't played WoW in two weeks once) didn't dodge properly. Anyway, i can not deny that this team is awesome, top 3 in the BG afaik.

*Losing teamwork and awareness etc

The above was written this morning but i didn't have time to finish it cause i had to go to the unemployment office. :( I'm such a cliché.

Tonight we had loads more games vs Fika and it was a blast. I really love it when you face a team that pushes you to really give it your all and actually force us to develop our strategies and teamwork. We ended up like 50-50 (7-5 in our favor according to Juliana) in stats, but since we were higher rated we lost a lot of rating and ended up at 2348. It really doesn't matter though, we had a lot of fun.
We lost some games to Dassan running in too far and getting either cc'd where i couldn't dispell or just focused and killed before we could get to him. But we also won a few games to the same thing, trying to get Wesk away form his healers then nuking him. Some games were really short when they mounted in and we all got clumped up and people died while others went on forever, being reset over and over again when everyone ran back and drank to full mana. One game lasted 12 minutes, and we finally won it when Wesk went too far away from his team and got killed. It is obvious, though, that we have a lot to improve on when it comes to target switching and to some extent communication.

Anyway, one of the best nights of 5v5 i've had so far and i really hope Fikagruppen stays active.
GG's!

Sunday 19 August 2007

- _ - ;;;

We played 10 games today. Max rating won: 3. Lost one game to a 4 dps nuke team that took us by surprise, rating lost: 30. We met them again and played right, giving us an easy win and 2 or 3 rating. Hurra.

9 - 1 and minus 16 rating. Pretty frustrating.

Friday 17 August 2007

OH MY FUCKING GOD

WOW IS SO BORING WITHOUT 5v5. WTS PRIEST. JESUS.

Monday 13 August 2007

First, for the last time? ^^^^

We had five games played this week, so Eldpojken agreed to play another five with us tonight so we could get points this week. We played a total of 8 games, all of them with Esko and we went undefeated.

We finally got to meet Rating Robbers, a top 5 team that we had not played against before. Unfortunately the matches we're not a lot of fun, it was never close and they we're using a lot of pve gear.

Anyway, we got our exact rating back (2423) and took rank one again, but if Eld won't play with us anymore this might be the last week in a long while that we can keep this spot while we are looking for a substitute.

BTW Quoted from "The best player you've faced" thread on our BG forum:

Viludin: I'd have to give some well earned credit for Esko, Tarmed's hunter. Being able to control multiple people at the same time is just wow :)

:D

Goodbye

First of all Eldpojken has announced that he will stop playing WoW. He is trying to get his life back on track and WoW understandably doesn't fit into the picture. This is of course a tragic loss for our team as he was a big part of it, a great player and a fun person to be around. Best of luck to you.

This means that we are looking for 1 amazingly geared warlock to take his spot. A mage would not be unwelcome, but we need a warlock to fit Glasmastarn on the team unless we have a 2xwar setup as well. This person would of course have to have very good skills as well as knowledge of all other classes and the game in general. He/she would need to be able to speak on vent and have a lot of arena experience. And he/she would have to be Swedish.

We played 4 games today, all versus knockout. Esko was not available for play, but we knew there were at least two 4-dps teams playing so we thought we'd queue up anyway. Apparantly though we struck out and got Knockout, a team we can not possibly beat with this setup.

In the first game we lucked out/they screwed up and we managed to win, giving us 13 rating. The other three games were big losses though. They had like twice our damage on every position, and i get oom instantly with mana drain, viper sting and mana burns. If i try to dodge viper, i get MB'd, if i dodge MB i get vipered. And mana drain of course ignores LoS.

We ended up at something like 2383 which kind of sucked, but whatever. In the light of the news that Eldpojken was quitting rating doesn't really matter. Seems like we won't be playing in a serious setup for a while.

PERSONAL BLOGGING STYLE TAKE TWO: Today i ate a muffin, went for a car ride with Esko, talked to my oldest brother, made friends with a fly, brushed my teeth four times, went for a walk, watered my moms flowers, listened to the 500 greatest songs of all time, met Niklas and spent the night drinking alone. Next week i will be going to Stockholm to stay at my brothers place for a few days. I have not been able to sleep properly for a couple of days. This Monday i will find out whether or not i get in to the school i have applied to to fix my grades. I am tired of WoW. I have nothing better to do. For now.

Thursday 9 August 2007

Rampàge

I'm getting really fucking tired of this battle group. It has now become impossible for us to get games in 5v5 unless we plan something with other top 10-15 teams on IRC. The grass might not be greener, i have not played in other battle groups so i don't know but this feels so stupid. People are PvE'ing instead of queuing up. *SADFACE* IF IT IS SCRIPTED IT IS BORING, STOP IT.

If the situation is different for top teams in the Cyclone BG (i.e you can queue up most nights and get games that give at least 5+ rating) let me know in a comment, because we're growing pretty tired of this.

We have some matches planned vs Knockout this weekend, i sure hope they don't get a surprise raid or something. I like this team. I think they're mostly nice guys and they play well which makes for fun games. I just wish they could kill Illidan soon and get this PvE-business over with.

Now i'm going to try my hand at a more personal style of blogging: I'm eating tortellini, i'm thinking of getting a dog, i need to get my grades up fairly soon so i can do something with my life, a close friend of mine died last weekend when she fell through a roof, Esko will never have any real problems in life because he is too organized, smart and nice. What do you think? TERRIBLY EXCITING HURRAH!

PS. 2423 rating atm, rank 5 in the world according to this and our dear Glasmastarn is now the highest rated 5v5 druid in the world. Congrats!

Sunday 5 August 2007

2400 ^p^

Fucking awesome 5v5 today! Knockout we're queuing and this time we had the right line up. With Glasmastarn we can't punish exael enough for being affliction, but hunters are great versus locks and especially when they're not SL. So it was a mirror match, rank 1 vs rank 2 in the BG both playing pal/war/priest/lock/hunt.

We won the first two games, then lost the next two. We win, they win, we win, they win, and then we won some more. The score was 7 - 4 in our favor when we had to stop queuing, overtaking their number one spot and sporting a rating of 2409! Our highest rating yet by the way. ^^

It was probably the most intense and even series of games i've played so far (perhaps baring Testify vs Full Patàge ^^). A lot of the matches ended up 3v3 in the end, and one game in particular was amazing to watch.
I say watch, because i was the first to die. It went from 4v5->4v4->3v4->3v3 (mirror pal/hunt/war)->2v2 (mirror hunt/war) to a 1v1 with Dassantwo vs Majin, both at ~15% hp.
They both bandage, then get the charge of at exactly the same time, followed by an intercept at the same time. Dassan got slightly lower on HP and was screaming on vent for a mace proc ("COME OOOOON SKILLHERALD!") but it doesn't come. He gets off a war stomp before Majin does and he kills her with ~2% hp left himself. It was fucking awesome.

Another good thing was that we finally met Your Nightmare again. We have only met them like twice before and they won both matches because of insane damage that we couldn't really counter at the time. They were being dicks about it even though they are not very good players (game 1, counterspells landed on fontaine: 0/6) so it felt really good to get back at them.

Malin, rest in peace.

Wednesday 1 August 2007

Bla

Haven't written anything in a while now. I visited Murph this weekend and met Fontaine as well which was fun, but i couldn't play any arena. We have played twice since then though and we have gone up and down in points, and yesterday we ended at rank 2 with 2338 rating, with Knockout taking the rank 1 spot.

Not going into details now because i cba, my head hurts, it seems that we often get the wrong setup for the night due to bad luck. When we face nuke'ish teams, we have Esko instead of Glas, and when we faced Knockout we had Glas instead of Esko (having Esko would have made it a mirror and would have countered their insanely geared affliction lock Exael a lot better). Better try to have both online on the nights we play.

That's all for now, in the future i will try to update every time we play like usual.

PS. Big thanks to Grinder for helping me out with leg enchants for both my shaman and my priest, Grinder ftw!

Thursday 26 July 2007

:*D

Yesterday we played 13 games. After five wins we lost to some nab 2xwarrior/shaman/priest/lock team by simply playing really badly. Their lock got into range of Fontaine too easily so he got cursed etc and since we were playing Esko instead of Glas i had to do all the healing, and i can't keep someone up with 2 warriors and a lock on him. No decurse ftl, no cyclone ftl. Thirty fucking rating in one game. We were at 2309 and went down to 2279, and we had to get it all back again. I think we ended at like 2309 or 2307 i can't recall.

This weekend i will go to Linköping to stay with Murph for a few days, and i will also get the chance to visit Fontaine and Eldpojken. Will probably be a lot of fun!

I think we will play again tonight, we'll see.

Update: Nope, no 5v5. Instead we killed Gruul for the first time. They wiped n' wiped until yours truly stepped in and SAVED THE DAY. (True story)

Tuesday 24 July 2007

-0-;;

Yesterday was fun but annoying. No real teams were playing but Knockout had taken our rank 1 position when we weren't able to play, so we wanted it back. Slowly but surely we started climbing to beat their 2280 (we started at 2262) and the most points we got for a game was 6 from Burn in Fayaah (a 2xwarrior team that used to flame us about how hunters and druids are totally imbalanced :D).

We got 2281, then played a few more games thinking we'd like to get 2300, but at ~2290 we screwed up and lost 25 rating. That was the annoying part. It took us like an hour to get back to 2281, and we stayed there knowing Knockout wasn't going to play any more this week and thus probably having the rank 1 spot secured for this week as well, even though it was by 1 rating hehe.

I have been trying to find someone who can craft Resolute Cape. I'm trying to get as much armor as possible for use against 2xWarrior teams (i.e Take Random, but perhaps especially Bloodparasite since they still seem to stick both warriors on one target).

In other news, one of the biggest guilds on our server (Victorus te Saluto) disbanded yesterday when their officers went off to join the best pve guild on the server (Yoh). Could this result in some actual pve progress on the server? I do not know. Hopefully!
I have also been talking to some friends in Into Oblivion (Dassantwo's guild) and i might be joining them with my shaman to do some light pve when i feel like it and they feel like it. We will see though.

That's all for today i think. I added links to SG and Radikal which i think are two of the better (but also most well known) blogs about WoW-pvp right now.

Thursday 19 July 2007

Pants

14 games played last night. We lost a game to Fikagruppen who are IRL friends of Fontaine and Eldpojken. It was really close and came down to like 3v3 and they got their second BoP when the mage was on ~5% hp which made it a 2v1 which in the end and they won. Esko had some problems with his screen, it bugs out sometimes when he zones or alt+tabs, but after a while it usually starts working again. Had us worried though. We were lucky enough to get the bug on Nagrand twice so we could turtle until it started working again.

Second game vs Fikagruppen we played better and it was a pretty safe win. Hats off to them though, most of them are great players and they're a fun team to play against. Sadly enough they stopped queuing after that game.

We stopped getting games at 2262 rating i think so we quit for the night, not sure when we will play again next time.

Tuesday 17 July 2007

Pleh

First of all: Yay i finally bothered getting 70 with the shaman and transfer it to vashj. I couldn't resist as i had like 1200g and ~600 bandages on her after leveling. The shaman is called Chï.
Now the gear grind begins, and i'm gonna try to get some arena points before tomorrow's update.

Second of all, we played some more games yesterday with Esko instead of Glas and i have to admit i was kind of nervous. We had gotten so comfortable with the other setup, and Esko hadn't played for over a week. Worrying about his performance was kind of unnecessary though as it turned out i was the one who sucked that day hehe. First two games i played really bad, i usually need to warm up before we start playing if i haven't played 5v5 for a few days by doing some 3v3 or something, but i didn't this time and it was a big factor in us losing our first two games.

When both me and Fontaine are used to having Glas there for backup healing, meeting lock/war/priest/pal/mage before we get a chance to adjust isn't great. They have so much cc on font with fears/tongues/cs/spell lock that i really need to be on top of my game with LoS'ing and kiting, but i wasn't. Lost two games to a team much lower than us, going back 47 rating. I pulled it together though and we won 12 straight games (two versus the ones we lost to). Our stats for the week are 23 - 2 with 2238 (iirc) rating.

Knockout has been playing more it seems and both them and Toy Soldiers have taken our rank one spot once each, but i think we got it back now. They will probably play tomorrow though so one of them will probably take it again. We won't be playing because Glasmastarn needs to keep his 30%, he's on vacation. Both those teams are PvE naps btw and have really sick gear to prove it. Majin, Knockouts warrior, has Cataclysm's Edge as an example. Fucking ouch.

Friday 13 July 2007

Rank 1!

Very small update now, just wanted to say we went 11-0 today and landed on 2204 rating, making us rank 1 in the BG and rank 10 in the world according to latest geekboys update!

Glasmastarn is going to Malta for a week now so we're not going to be able to play the setup we've been playing the last few days. That's kind of sad since we've gotten so comfortable with it and it's all working out very well. On the other hand Esko will get some playtime now (he was going to play today but he gave his spot to Glas so he could get some games in this week and hopefully keep his 30%).

Tomorrow is a big big day.

HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX OPENS!

Me and Esko had our tickets weeks ago, of course, and will be spending the day having a Harry Potter marathon (or as many of the movies we have time for after Esko gets back from work). It will be awesome. Harry Potter is awesome. Yeah.

Wednesday 11 July 2007

A great night of 5v5!

At least Tuesday didn't let us down! We queued up with our druid/lock/pal/war/priest setup and in the first game we met Einherjers. In season one they held first rank for quite a long time and were almost consistently top five.
We used to play them a lot with our old setups of 3heal/mage/war and 3heal/hunter/war, both of which aren't very good. We always had fun matches and we all enjoyed playing them, even if our stats were like 25 - 1 in their favor.

This time though, we won. And we did so 6 times in a row. They run what has been called the ultimate 5v5 setup (or fotm setup as Hubris calls it) of mage/eshaman/war/pal/priest, and they have the best racials for it (dwarves, gnomes). First they tried taking down Eldpojken while we went for Nedsat (their priest, and we wen't for him every game) but they couldn't get him down, and it left me free to Mana Burn. They tried going for me aswell, and even going for Fontaine but Eld could keep their mage under controll very well with fears and constantly cursing their whole team. Also my dispelling was better than ever so he had to spend too much time sheeping Dassan. In one game i had more damage done with him, just casting MB's.

We also faced Coinflip a few times, and they were not really a threat since they play rogue. Dassan was on him until he died every game so he really didn't get much done.

We finished at 2150 rating, second place in the BG and undefeated for the night. It felt great, especially since the communication between me and Fontaine was so good. We have been practicing it a lot in 3v3 and it has really payed off.

I was a little disappointed when Ehlo (Einherjer's paladin) started whining on IRC about how we were running an easy mode setup which took no skill, cyclone was imbalanced (resto druid imba) and accused us of switching around with setups until we found easy mode.

Cause pal/priest/rdruid/lock/warrior is free wins guaranteed. It's bound to become standard. For sure. Yeah. Right.

Whatever, this was fun and i'm really proud of how the team played last night. Good job all!

PS. Name change

Tuesday 10 July 2007

Is no one playing on Sundays?

We have always considered Sundays and Tuesdays the main arena days since Sundays are generally boring and you have nothing to do and Tuesdays are the last days before point update. In season one we talked to other teams and they were thinking along the same lines. Apparently, things have changed.

We started queuing at like 18:00 on Sunday and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally we get a game and win 2 rating. And it continued like that for a long long time until we got around 10 points from Cataclysm. We met them once more and then more 1-3 rating teams until we came up against Bloodparasite.

Bloodparasite is yet another 2xWar/Sham/Priest/Pala windfury-fest team. We won the first game in which their paladin DC'd, and lost the second time we faced them. Me and Fontaine still need to work on LoS'ing during the kite and communicating properly while doing so, cause versus these kinds of teams who can destroy me if they get a lucky proc i can not afford to miss a heal. With a shaman ES'ing, a priest's mana burns to dodge and fears to break and paladin HoJ's at critical moments it's hard to get heals out so when he can they really have to land.

I hope everyone will be online tonight so we can play. Tomorrow im picking up the s2 chest (which will put me at 478 resilience /flex), and next week i'll probably get the wand if anyone is interested lol.

Guests!

Won some lost some gained very little rating ended up at 2021. That's todays 5v5 report. I have asked Fontaine to write some stuff for the blog cause that would be fun i guess and you will hear all the bad stuff about me that i won't write myself!

Update: Fontaine wrote some stuff about today's games, and here it is for you all to enjoy!

Today was yet another day in the arenas! We were playing our tri healer setup with druid as a third healer with only warrior + warlock dps First we had a nice smooth run were we went from 2011 to 2060 or so only loosing once to team potestas, with them playing a setup including a feral druid zomg, cheers to them, but then we faced Your Nightmare! They were playing warrior, mage, hunter, shaman and paladin. We played them 3 games and none of the games were even tight =(, we were overrun in three straight games. Their damage was just crazy, our lock was totally shut down the entire fight, and our priest went oom immidiatly with the combo of pet + vipersting. I am though very impressed with their hunter beeing able to dish out that much dmg, never dying with his pet and always keeping that sting on our priest (, and also from having such high rating in 2on2 with the hunterclass! After these losses we exchanged our druid for esko the hunter, unfortuneatly we never played them again :(.

I feel abit sorry for team potestas though, after us loosing to teams i belive we really shouldn't, mostly due to communication problems between me and chidorii. We ended up playin team potestas over and over again, which really had a though time playing us. After grabbing another 30 points or so from them, we went back to loosing against lower ranked teams, only to grab another 30 points from potestas again ^^. I personally think their warlock is among the most annoying to play against in this battlegroup, and as soon as their druid gets abit better timing on his feral charge and cyclones i expect them to perform better.

Tomorrow is sunday!! The best arena day of the week! Hopefully we can play alot more of the top teams tomorrow, and it will be a blast! See you in arenas!

Wogatron

First of all, i just got back from the movies. Me and my brother took my dad to see Transformers and it was fucking awesome. It had the mandatory cheesy one-liners, crappy dialog etcetera but it didn't matter at all since it was coming from robots. If you read Transformers, watched Transformers and played with Transformers as a kid, you're gonna love it.

PvP blog. Right. We played 5v5 again today. We had the whole team online for once and could run our two best setups. We started with lock/hunter/priest/pal/war, going 6-0 before Esko had to go eat. Glas took his place and we took another 6 straight wins before we had to quit since i was heading out and some of the others were going to go PvE. Roter (aka Isprinsessan from Full Patàge) wanted to give TK a try, so they grouped with another guild on the server and got Void Reaver to like 30%.

We hit 2k rating today (2011 i think), and hopefully we won't go below it again since we have sworn to not play any of our crappier setups since it just makes us all mad.

Wednesday 4 July 2007

A minor update

We played some 5v5 last night and went undefeated until we again met a double warrior+tri healer team. Our setup was dru/pal/priest/war/hunter, which is a totally useless setup. We can't kill anything and we can't keep them from drinking as all our healers have to either kite or heal almost constantly. It's outlast vs outlast but they can drink and do like double our damage. We lost three games and 46 rating to them. It's sad, since i believe we usually farm that team if we run a better setup.

After getting my shaman to like 66.7, we decided i was not going to reroll shaman. Instead, Glasmastarn will be doing that as it makes a LOT more sense for our lineup, and we don't have to bring in someone new. Nothing is set in stone though so we'll see what happens. Unless he can ebay something it will take eons to level and gear up, even if he takes the shaman i was leveling.

No 2v2/3v3 being played atm, Ambergo (a rogue with whom i first played 2v2, but the 90% warrior/pala setups in our bg at that time made it kinda boring as we couldn't get past 2300) who was the motor behind our 3v3 team left without saying anything to us, which was kind of weird i guess but Ambergo is the craziest russian i know so i don't really mind. Don't know what to fill the spot with now. We were thinking maybe a mage or something but there are almost no decent pvp mages on Vashj. Esko might join, he doesn't have an active 2v2 or 3v3 team.

Blah

I have been leveling the shaman a bit and she's at lvl 64.5 and going strong. I have to say though, leveling by yourself on a server where you know almost no one is not a lot of fun.

Me and Lubbo (pve-affliction lock with whom i play 2v2 and 3v3) played some 2v2 games late last night, and went undefeated until we met this rogue/druid team called Lakedon pre. They were decent players, nothing exceptional, but they resisted EVERYTHING. In the first game for example Zhai resisted 14 fears, 2 death coils and countless other things.
I logged on Sylvanas to talk to them and Zhai said they were both sporting 300+ shadow resistence. There was really nothing we could do, we couldn't do any damage to them. I guess Lubbo will have to start stacking up spell penetration if we want to be competitive in 2v2 nowadays. We lost twice to them.

It was 4 in the morning and i was playing shit but Lubbo wanted to keep playing so we did, and started losing more. We went like 2-2 or 2-3 against this Rogue/Mage team who would sap->cs->sheep->blind me and kill Lubbo, and i couldn't get my game together and use the trinket right. I trinketed sheep instead of waiting for devour magic and then getting blinded etc.

We also went 1-1 to a well geared 2xRogue team. First game was on Blade's Edge which is by far the best map vs rogue teams because of all the kiting options, but in the second game we got Ruins. I had to trinket sap to save lubbo from their opening cooldowns (at least one was hemo which means premed->cb evisc twice) and we tried to kite for a while, but then i got two blinds in between which i only had time for like a shield, a mending and a flash heal. Both were full duration, is there no diminishing returns on blind?

Tonight we will play some 5v5 for the first time this week, we'll see how it gooes.

Update: I had big internet problems today so i could only play a few games. Penicillin played the rest and as he hasn't played 5v5 or even holy in a long while it did not go well. 11-7 for the night and rating went down 29 points to an even 1900. What can i say, don't get Glocalnet. Ever.

Decisions decisions

Today is my brothers 21'st birthday so congratulations to him. Hurray!
What i didn't mention in the first post was that on that day the cast on my broken hand came off. I broke my hand three weeks earlier in a fight with above mentioned brother. I'm not much of a fighter, which was made abundantly clear here. Note to self: don't punch people, you don't have the slightest clue as to what you're doing.

So i had a cast for three weeks, i couldn't play at all during the first week but then i had the cast replaced with like a glass fiber cast, which was much more light weight and after modifying it slightly with a pair of scissors and a nail file i could play again, though not very well.
But now it's off and i can play 100% again which is nice.

I'm still trying to decide on whether to get this shaman up or not. I used a 10 day guest pass and got her to the xp cap (1 xp under lvl 61) and leveling with shit gear isn't fun. Also, i'm not sure how it would work out for the team setup-wise. We would probably have to recruit a new priest,
presumably Penicillin who used to play in Full Patàge. He is a good and friendly player so if he joined it would probably work out well.
I'm getting bored with playing priest and something new would be good, although playing the shaman actively would probably not happen until season 3 or something when i have gathered enough gear to not be a free kill, it's good to have a project now that I'm an unemployed loser living with my parents (yeah, maybe getting a job would be a better idea). I just graduated and I will probably start studying again this fall so don't look at me like that. :D

Anyway, i have to think about this. I have not upgraded the account for BC yet but i have a copy sitting right here that i bought two days ago. If i decide to level it i have a LOT of work to do, leveling it, farming honor/heroics/kara and what have you. And somewhere in the back of my head i know that every time have switched char because i got bored of playing priest (rogue, warrior) i have gone back to good ol' Chidorii. I don't know what to do.

Que sera, sera i guess.

03:37 Small Update:

I decided to go ahead and level the Shaman and i hit 62 before calling it a day.
On another note, Dassan finally got his last Nether Vortex and made himself a Stormherald today, though since Eldpojken is going away for a couple of days and Esko is working, we can not play for two days. Lucalo is benched because of constant internet problems. Gives me time to focus on the shaman i guess!

PS. Thanks to Drifting for helping with some elite quests and to Relinquish for farming honor for me. :>

Last day of the Week

Just like we do every Tuesday, we got together and played some games today. We played war/pal/priest/lock/drood for the first time and it went pretty well. We lost some games vs a bloodlust/lock/spriest nuke team and one of the only teams with a decent hunter in our BG, who kept spamming snake trap which when coupled with the shaman's rank 1 ES spamming really messed up Fontaine's healing. We won more than we lost vs both of them though.
Dassan hadn't slept more than like 6 hours in the last two days so he wanted to go to bed, and as the supportive and friendly group of pals we are we didn't let him.

We were at like 1970~ rating which put us at #1 in our battlegroup, but instead of stopping like maybe we should have, we kept playing and lost 24 rating to some team, i can't recall which one. We beat them and took back like 11 or something, but then we came up against take random, a 2xWarrior/priest/pal/sham team.

Double warrior with 2-3 healers seems to be more popular than ever, it feels like 50% of the teams we come up against run some version of double warrior (even met one with a doomkin, which was freakin awesome, of course). Take random are different for a couple of reasons. First, the warriors are good, which is uncommon in these kinds of teams. Both of them play gnome females wielding Stormherald's, which as you can probably guess packs one hell of a punch.
We figured we'd go for the priest, since obviously we can't go for one of the warriors, the shaman is hella tough and the paladin will never go down +get's infinite mana with two healers on him and it leaves their priest free to mana burn.

The map for both games was Ruins of Lordaeron. They put one warrior on me and one on Eldpojken. Barri, their priest, didn't' have to heal himself except when his shadow tree was pummeled so he kept burning Glas and Fontaine, and they couldn't really dodge since Glas has to juggle roots and cyclone on both warriors and Fontaine has to keep in LOS of me and Eld.
In the first game their priest wen't down first, but at that point all healers on our side were low on mana while their healers could rotate drinking throughout the whole game. The end game power of double warrior which i often saw while playing with Testify really shone through here and they won the game.

Second game was pretty much the same, but i got less counter burns off on Barri and their damage was way more intense through the whole game, and they got both first and last blood. We lost 16 in the first game and 14 in the second, leaving us at 1929 rating i think.

Take random has an incredible record with like one loss this season, and they had similar last season (we took them twice in a row the first time we met them, when their record was something like 46 - 2 iirc). With all these noob teams running the easy to play line ups (2x warr, lock/spriest nuke etc) it's easy to forget just how powerful it can be when really good players run cheesy setups. It's like giving cheat codes to a pro gamer.

Hear yee, hear yee!

Hello. This is Chidorii, undead priest of Vashj-EU. I thought i might start my own PvP-blog since it seems to be the trend these days. Perhaps I should start by telling you MILLIONS of readers that are bound to read this a little about myself. My name is Johan, i live in Sweden and today i turn 19. As I said I play a priest called Chidorii in the 5v5 team calle Tarmed and i belong to a PvP guild named Le Damàge. I have been playing priest since i got the game, shortly after release. On level 60 i did a lot of pve playing shadow priest from BWL to Naxx.

Season one i played in three different teams. Started out not playing 5v5 at all, but after a while me and my friends Murph (warrior) Esko (hunter) and Glasmastarn (druid) joined a team of russians called Comedy Club. We were pretty bad, zero communication etc but managed to beat some top rated teams anyway. Our rating was at ~2k when i got the offer to join a higher rating team of high profile PvP'ers on my server called Testify. Since we were hardly playing and no one took it seriously i took the offer. We played a setup of 2xWarrior/Mage/Pala/Priest. This team had way better communication and more experienced players and we ended up qualifying for the next tournament stage with a rating of about 2385.

Our mage decided he didn't want to play the game anymore, and also had some problems with his connection. Because of this we didn't get to play one single game on the tournament server, but i really wasn't that upset, partly because i understood the mage's (Drifting) situation, and partly because i didn't really dig the atmosphere in the team. I had already started making plans for the team i play in today.

Esko, Glasmastarn, Murph and me we're going to make a new team together with a good friend of ours, Fontaine, who plays a paladin. He had been playing with IRL friends in a high rating team called Full Patàge, but after they tilted their rating just before the qualification date the whole team bar Fontaine lost the will to play. So we created Tarmed.
We have had quite a few members come and go. We started out playing the "power trip" setup of Mage/Hunter/Warrior/Priest/Pala, but our mage (Zantha, the mage from Full Patàge) eventually got tired of playing and stopped showing up which really screwed us over since this was in a patch where mages were invaluable because of counterspell imbalance etc. We also had an under geared elemental shaman at the time, but he stopped playing too. Won't go on about this, but we've gone through our fair share of players which hasn't really allowed us to perform at the level we should.

Our biggest problem is usually getting a decent setup online, we've been forced to play tri-healer (druid/pal/priest) with warrior/mage which is terrible, or tri-healer with warrior/hunter which is decent. Lots of back and forth, quitters, joiners, stand-ins etc. You get the picture, it's been a mess.
Anyway. We now have the following players: Fontaine (Paladin) Chidorii (Priest) Esko (Hunter) Lucalo (Mage) Dassantwo (Warrior) Glasmastarn (Druid) Eldpojken (Warlock).

I think that we finally have a line up that we can play consistently and perhaps get good with. But changes might still come, you never know. I for one am getting a bit tired of playing priest, and i have my eyes on my brothers retired level 60 shaman. So there it is, the introduction. We'll see if i continue this.

PS. I always forget to write "I" instead of "i" and i cba correcting them all, so bear with me.
